Week Six

Monday/Rahina:

On Monday most of us had to finish publishing our autobiography stories and when we finished we did self decided writing. For maths we did work on paper planes where we had to make a paper plane and do a test to see what the best design worked best for: length, straightest and how long it can stay in the air. For reading we did character profile, literature detective and a group reading with Mr Smith.

Tuesday/Ratu:

In the morning we did beach clean up where we walked down to the beach and on the way down two people had big black plastic bags and everyone had one glove. While we were walking down we were picking up rubbish. For maths we did more  work on paper planes where we had to make a paper plane and do a test to see what the best design was. We did more work on our autobiography stories and people did some more self decided writing. Year sevens did mediation and the year eights did leadership.

Wednesday/Raapa:

We finished up our work on the paper planes for the week and will finish it off next week. Kate and Daniel had their first lesson on learning German. We did Kapa Haka and after that the non-Kapa Haka group did some music making with Mr Smith. After lunch we went swimming and practised what it feels like if you fall into the water with clothes on and did some relays and had some free time.

Thursday/Rapare:

We went to the school library and a group of people went back to class to do a reading test. Some people went to Fitzroy beach and did a surfing competition. After break we did electronic music with Mr Johnson. After that we did drama games where we got intro groups and Mr Smith had to shout out a location and we had one minute to to make a scene at that location and after drama we did written language. After break we did visual art.

Friday/Ramere:

In the morning the year seven and eights went to tech at Devon Intermediate and did woodwork, metalwork, baking and digital tech. After morning tea we did reading and then did passion time and did what we like to do and what our passions are. In the afternoon, we went to assembly and then wrote a reflection on the week.
